Lock solutions in oncology
Central venous access is needed for the administration of medication in the fields of oncology and haematology. In these immuno-suppressed patients, catheter infections can have fatal consequences. Especially at the tip of the catheter, contact with blood can lead to the formation of blood clots and compromise catheter patency.
Accordingly, lock solutions must meet the following requirements:
